our name “Orox” is a combination of the root words “Orient” and “Occident” derived from the Latin terms for East and West. Mark Martinson | Managing Partner.
Bryan Korngut | Partner
Mr. Martinson founded Orox Capital in the Fall of 2012 and is the Firm’s Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer.  Prior to founding Orox Capital, he served as a Senior Managing Director at Courage Capital Management, helping to invest its credit strategies fund focused on distressed and underperforming situations.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Martinson was Director of Distressed Research at Cantor Fitzgerald.  He also served as a Portfolio Manager in the Distressed and Special Situations group at Highland Capital Management, managing a portfolio of over $5 billion in assets and supervising a team of Portfolio and Senior Portfolio Analysts.  Additionally, Mr. Martinson served as an Analyst focusing on distressed and special situation investments at Wexford Capital, a multi-strategy and special situations hedge fund. He began his career at Merrill Lynch as an Analyst in the investment banking division. Mr. Martinson has served on the boards of directors of CCS Medical, Inc. and Solstice Neurosciences, Inc.  He served as the Chairman of Southwest Spirits & Wine, LLC and is a director of Osburn Companies, LLC.

Mr. Martinson received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Economics from the University of Virginia, where he was a member of the men’s varsity soccer team.  He is a dedicated member of the University of Virginia alumni community and an active participant within the Church of the Incarnation located in Dallas, TX.
Mr. Korngut is a Partner at Orox Capital and joined the firm at its inception.  His primary responsibilities include identifying, researching and evaluating investment opportunities, as well as performing transaction due diligence and related negotiations.  Prior to Orox Capital, he served as Vice President of Credit Strategies at Courage Capital Management, reporting to Mr. Martinson.  Earlier in his career, he worked in investment banking at UBS Investment Bank and Morgan Stanley as an Associate Director and Associate, respectively, where he advised numerous companies on a variety of capital markets and M&A transactions across the globe.  He also worked at Highland Capital Management in the Distressed and Special Situations group, where he reported to Mr. Martinson.  Additionally,  Mr. Korngut served as an Analyst at Falcon Fund, a value-based long/short hedge fund.  He began his career at UBS as an Analyst in the investment banking division.  He currently serves on the board of directors of Osburn Companies, LLC.

Mr. Korngut is also proficient in Japanese and has experience working throughout Asia, including time in both Japan and Hong Kong.  Mr. Korngut graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Dallas with a B.S. in Management Information Systems.
O’Malley Hayes | Partner
Jeff McKee | Finance Director
Ms. Hayes joined Orox Capital in the Spring of 2016 as a Partner in charge of investment idea generation, trading and sourcing.  Ms. Hayes has 17 years of credit market experience, strong market relationships and extensive knowledge of the leveraged loan markets.  Most recently, she was a Principal at H.I.G. Bayside, responsible for trading, sourcing and maintaining sell side relationships.  Ms. Hayes began her career at Merrill Lynch working on the distressed debt desk, managing an institutional investor base consisting of banks, insurance companies, pensions, CLOs, hedge funds and private equity funds.  Utilizing this comprehensive network, she sourced and traded bank loans, bonds and equity of companies ranging from new issue to stressed, distressed and restructured credit.  She currently serves on the board of directors of Southwest Spirits & Wine, LLC.

Ms. Hayes received a B.S. in Finance from Bentley University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.  She actively supports the North Dallas Food Bank and has been extensively involved with the Girl Scouts organization working with her two daughters for the past several years.  When she isn't spending time with her family, she enjoys playing golf.
Mr. McKee is the Finance Director of Orox Capital.  He has assisted Orox as a financial consultant since February 2014 and now serves as the Firm’s Chief Financial Officer, responsible for all financial, tax and reporting functions.  Prior to joining Orox, Mr. McKee worked in healthcare at StoneGate Senior Living for seven years holding various positions including Director of Financial Reporting for Strategic Development responsible for financial, tax and compliance reporting along with overseeing technical accounting and mergers and acquisition activities.  In this role he reported directly to the Chief Financial officer on a variety of complex projects.  Additionally, Mr. McKee began his career with almost six years in public accounting with Deloitte & Touche and TravisWolff.

Mr. McKee graduated James Madison University with a BBA in Accounting and Finance. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants.  He enjoys attending his children’s events with his wife and they are active members of St. James Episcopal Church of Dallas.
